Things that have negative ramifications are usually due to the player's actions. We rag on EA a lot, but I appreciate how they leave a lot of things to the player. Also how children randomly piss themselves every night, the reason being "poor bladder control," an event that is entirely out of the player's control. If I really like a mod, I'll edit the icons myself in S4Studio, but there were just too many in that mod. Really good ideas in that mod, I just didn't like how it doesn't blend.
That's why I ended up removing all of the systems.
